Nova exclusive! Zach’s Ceremony is an extraordinary feature-length documentary captured over ten years, whic shows one boy’s journey to manhood in a complex, emotionally-driven story. Its themes are universal – of family and connection – but also explored is the fascinating and unique question of the meaning of being a modern man belonging to the oldest living culture on earth.

Growing up isn’t easy, especially for Zach who is rapidly making the transition from boyhood to manhood, both in the modern world and in his ancient culture. Pressures from his loving, but staunch father, the temptations of city life, and the ever-present spectre of racism all take their toll. Ultimately, Zach must embrace the traditions and knowledge of his ancestors and awaken the warrior within.

BINNAP partners is an incorporated body which supports Aboriginal Catholic Ministry in Victoria, and promotes community awareness of Indigenous concerns and collaboration in promoting Aboriginal advancement. BINNAP Partners also helped establish the Open Doors Foundation, which assists hundreds of children in Indigenous families to attend the school of their choice.
