Justice H B Higgins established a living wage for unskilled male workers, enough to support a wife and three children in ‘frugal comfort’. This became the basis of the Australian wages system.

Fr Frank Brennan SJ has been a long-time advocate for human rights and social justice. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Social Services Australia, based in Canberra.
