Over 160 people gathered at the book launch of An Enabling Life. Fr Kevin Mogg, A collection of Reminiscences. As one attendee reflected, it was uplifting to be part of a good church story.

Kevin Mogg is a much loved and respected Church leader, who has held key leadership positions throughout his sixty years-plus as a priest. The book covers some of his time as Rector at the Corpus Christi Seminary Clayton, as Inaugural Episcopal Vicar, Social Welfare, and as parish priest at three parishes.

Many of the attendees at the launch were people who have known Kevin throughout their life, meeting him as children at St Pius X West Heidelberg, or through his work as youth justice and adult prison chaplain. Also in attendance were fellow Religious and lay people connected with Catholic welfare agencies. The collective esteem the audience held for Kevin was palpable.

Judge Michael McInerney launched the book, regaling the audience with humorous and heartfelt insights about Kevin. Everyone was left with a sense of his unwavering faith, compassion, and inclusiveness.

Kevin himself acknowledged his rich life as a priest, the many friends who have helped him achieve so much, and the challenges and change he has witnessed in his time serving four archbishops – Knox, Little, Pell, and Hart. The book chronicles some fascinating times through Kevin’s bird’s-eye view of the secular, political, and social realities in Victoria over six decades.

Copies of the book can be ordered for $25.00 online from CatholicCare, or by calling (03) 9287 5517.
