...with inspiration, imagination and effort
Looking back in mid-2010, we hope to see an organisation • with a strong, intelligent and identifiable voice, • as a leading advocate of social justice, drawing critical inspiration from the social traditions of the churches.
We hope Social Policy Connections will have developed • a high and effective public advocacy profile, • lively connections with other networks and organisations, • ready access to government departments and politicians, • and be making a significant impact by stimulating better social outcomes.
We hope SPC will have grown into a strong organisation • with a committed and involved membership, including many young people and corporate memberships, • being led by a strong executive officer with a high public profile, • and with an effective governance structure, incorporating model practice in environmental awareness and social responsibility.
We envisage that SPC will have secured • adequate and reliable funding, • excellent communication with donors and members, • a skilled advocacy and research team, contributing over a range of key areas, including through the Yarra Institute for Religion and Social Policy.
Our aspirations are that SPC • will be contributing robustly to the public conversation, • producing quality research projects and publications, • making excellent use of new media, especially the web, • and engaging vibrantly with younger people.
