Church social justice interventions in the public arenaChurch organisations and personnel in Australia and New Zealand face unusual difficulties in speaking publicly about questions of social justice and advocacy for disadvantaged groups. It is often difficult to win a hearing in the media because of the secularism of our cultures,occasional outright anti-Catholic prejudice, and, especially at the moment, opprobrium directed against the Church as a legacy of sexual abuse cases.
