Catholic Prison Ministry offers prisoners emotional and spiritual support particularly when they are vulnerable and at risk of self harm. Opportunities for counseling and pastoral care can help prisoners tackle despair, grief and self-loathing, particularly in times of crisis such as family breakdown, illness, trauma and bereavement. Prisoners could reflect on their lives, including the harm they have caused others, opening a road map in their search for a new way forward.
